Destination Unknown: The Happy Way to Travel

Destination Unknown: The Happy Way to Travel
24 May 2017 James Brooke

srprs.me brings spontaneity and adventure to UK travellers.

Online travel company srprs.me has launched in the UK, bringing spontaneity and excitement to the way Brits travel.

Ranked Number 17 on The Next Web’s 30 fastest growing European tech companies for 2017, srprs.me liberates travellers from overly-researched, review-led travel booking processes which it believes take the excitement out of the way we travel.

srprs.me travellers simply choose between a city break or backpacking adventure, indicate their budget and pick their dates. Prior to travel they receive a weather forecast for packing purposes but only discover their destination when they reveal a special code on a scratch card at the airport departure lounge.

srprs.me has already sent over 50,000 people on city breaks and backpacking adventures since it was founded in Amsterdam in 2014.

srprs.me’s CEO Raymond Klompsma said of its UK launch: “We created srprs.me to bring the fun back to travel and inspire people to embrace the unknown. For too long surprise travellers have found themselves in off-season locations and in substandard accommodation – we’re here to change that reality. We’re looking forward to taking customers out of their comfort zones and making them the happiest people in the departure lounge. ”

We want to set people’s hearts racing and help them do away with the researching, reasoning and rationalising that can drain the magic from seeing the world. Ultimately, people will go wherever they’re meant to go and we’ll help them get there.”

How it works

  1. Choose your trip theme: City Trip or Backpacking?
  2. Specify how long you want to be away, select your dates and pick a departure point from one of 8 UK airports
  3. Set your budget and note up to three destinations you don’t want to go to
  4. Receive your dedicated page and srprs.consultant who personally selects the ideal destination, flights and accommodation to deliver the most memorable experience
  5. Seven days before departure, you’ll receive the weather forecast for your destination so that you can pack appropriately
  6. A couple of days before you go, a scratchcard will arrive in the post. This reveals a code, which is your key to discovering your destination
  7. Scratch off the card at the airport, input the code into your phone and surprise! You’re going to…

srprs.me’s city break destinations currently cover all of Europe, while the backpacking destinations extend worldwide, with destinations selected according to trip duration and budget. The company’s network of partners ensures accommodation is always of a high standard, in a convenient location and selected through reputable feedback.
