It may be another eight months until the ski season, but the best resorts and chalets require early booking!
Ski seasons have notoriously busy peak periods due to the short nature of the season’s snow-filled period and the popularity of ski holidays. The highest rates of occupancy are typically during the school holidays with Christmas, New Year and half-term being the most popular. For skiers looking towards a holiday during the peak periods of the 2015/16 season it is worth taking note of the most popular resorts and chalets and booking early. Alpine Guru are already reporting 50% more enquiries during the first quarter of this year compared to 2014. Here are the top picks for resorts to book now:
Zermatt is a perennial favourite with families wanting to visit one of Europe’s prettiest resorts for a Christmas and New Year getaway. As well as the aesthetic qualities of the chocolate-box village and the towering Matterhorn, the resort is also one of the only 100% snow-sure destinations during December. After the poor snowfall at the start to the 2014/15 season this is sure to be a further consideration for those booking early.
