Clink Hostels Appoints COO to Oversee New Growth Phase

Clink Hostels Appoints COO to Oversee New Growth Phase
1 November 2023 Samantha Anderson

Family-owned hostel group, Clink Hostels, has announced the appointment of its new Chief Operating Officer, Marc Roebersen.

Roebersen’s appointment is pivotal for Clink Hostels as the company enters an expansion phase; a key element of this is the imminent opening of a brand-new hostel, Clink i Lár, in central Dublin, which Roebersen will oversee alongside the founders.

Bringing a wealth of hospitality industry experience to the role, Roebersen joins Clink from an almost four-year stint at Generator Hostels as Cluster General Manager for the brand’s properties in London, Paris, and Amsterdam.

He had previously spent seven years as the General Manager of various Postillion Hotels, a Dutch chain of ‘smart’ hotels with a focus on technological innovations in guest experience.

Marc Roebersen, Chief Operating Officer at Clink Hostels, says: “Joining Clink at such a pivotal point in the brand’s journey gives me an opportunity to really take my past experiences in the sector and use them to help transform Clink Hostels into the brand it seeks to be.

“Working alongside Anne Dolan and helping her launch Clink i Lár in her home city, Dublin, is an honour. Our shared passion for hospitality and putting the guest experience at the forefront was a huge factor of what drew me to take on the role.

“I am especially keen to implement my experience with revenue management and to have Clink be amongst the first to properly integrate it in Ireland, where the hospitality industry is currently seriously falling behind in this regard. Our goal is for Clink to not just be known as a leader in delivering exceptional guest experiences, but also for its commitment to industry innovation.

“Most of all, I am delighted to join such a vibrant team, eager to connect travellers from all over the world.”

The 628-bed hostel opening this autumn, Clink i Lár, is a dynamic and vibrant hub in the heart of both Dublin’s thriving international community and the city’s historic Abbey Street.

The brand-new purpose-built hostel will offer rooms of various sizes, from private ensuites to mixed dormitories, and will provide activities for travellers of all ages. The hostel will also house communal kitchens, bar and café.
