Clink Hostels Unveils New 628-Bed Hostel in the Heart of Dublin

Clink Hostels Unveils New 628-Bed Hostel in the Heart of Dublin
25 October 2023 Samantha Anderson

Family-owned hostel group, Clink Hostels, has today announced the launch of Clink i Lár, a 628-bed hostel in the centre of Dublin, opening for its first guests tomorrow, Thursday 26 October.

With two established and popular hostels in London and three in Amsterdam, Clink i Lár is the sixth addition to Clink Hostels’ portfolio since it was founded in 1997. It is the first property located in the Republic of Ireland, the hometown of Clink Hostels’ co-founders, sisters Anne and Shelly Dolan.

The Irish Gaelic i Lár translates to “in the middle”, aptly reflecting the hostel’s prime location on Dublin’s historic Abbey Street, less than a five-minute walk to the iconic Temple Bar and Ha’penny Bridge which crosses the city’s River Liffey.

Marc Roebersen, Chief Operating Officer at Clink Hostels says: “Following our success in creating social hubs for travellers from far and wide in both London and Amsterdam, we are ecstatic to be returning to Clink’s Irish roots in the bustling city of Dublin.

“Like with our other leading hostels, Clink i Lár will be a dynamic and vibrant hub of community engagement, offering a social spaces for travellers of all ages to connect and relax while visiting Ireland’s liveliest city. Clink i Lár will be placed firmly in the heart of the thriving, international community of Dublin that we know and love.”

The hostel features 628 beds, sleeping guests across a variety of air-conditioned rooms, including private ensuite rooms, female-only rooms, and mixed dorms ranging from 4 to 12 beds, with prices starting at £26 per night.

In recent years, accommodation and hospitality prices in Ireland, and particularly Dublin, have rocketed. Clink’s design-led hostel opening in the heart of the city will allow travellers of all ages and backgrounds to be able to visit the Irish capital and its surrounding areas for an affordable price, encouraging a wider range of visitors to travel to the city for overnight stays.

Tomorrow’s launch means the hostel will be ready to host travellers from far and wide ahead of the busy festive season, with Dublin traditionally drawing large crowds in November and December to see the beautiful Christmas markets and other city wide attractions.

“More than simply an affordable place to rest your head, Clink i Lár will have communal kitchen facilities as well as its own in-house café and cocktail bar, WunderBar,” Roebersen continues. “Expect to see a range of cocktails, spritzes and mocktails, and a food menu with an international theme.

“We will also be offering a range of activities such as free group walking tours to encourage guests to get to know their fellow travellers whilst also seeing the hidden gems of this enchanting city.

“Keen to nurture Dublin’s arts and cultural scene, we are implementing our established play-and-stay scheme, whereby musicians can earn a free night’s stay at Clink i Lár for every night they perform at the hostel.”

Guest can book via Clink Hostels’ website clinkhostels.com. Booking direct through Clink Hostels’ website will unlock a 10% discount, and booking 60 days in advance will unlock a 25% early bird discount.
