Rooster Appointed to Deliver PR for Nevis Tourism Authority

Rooster Appointed to Deliver PR for Nevis Tourism Authority
17 November 2020 James Brooke

The Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA) has appointed Rooster PR to manage its strategic PR programme following a competitive pitch, designed to build awareness of the island and drive British visitors to the destination.

Located two miles southeast of its sister island St. Kitts in the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean, Nevis is one of the world’s most charming spots, with lush scenery, white sand beaches, and warm, welcoming people. Providing invaluable travel experiences in the realms of relaxation, wellness, health and sports, Nevis is the ideal destination for those seeking a barefoot luxury holiday in a truly unspoilt environment.

Nevis has a plethora of annual events that draw international visitors, including the Mango Festival, Culturama Festival, Nevis Marathon, Nevis Triathlon, and Cross Channel Swim. The island officially re-opened its borders to international arrivals on 31 October.

Rooster will develop and implement a strong PR plan, which will include story generation, press trip co-ordination, issues management and influencer relations, with the goal of securing quality press coverage and driving a measurable increase in visitor numbers.

CEO of the Nevis Tourism Authority, Jadine Yarde, said: “We are delighted to have Rooster on board as our public relations partner in the UK. The British market is very important to us, and we are confident that Rooster’s knowledge and experience in the travel & tourism sectors will drive the desired results for us.

“Following a challenging year for our tourism industry due to the pandemic, it is imperative that Nevis is fully prepared to welcome back international visitors and show the world what has been waiting for them.”

James Brooke, Managing Director at Rooster, said: “We’re excited to have been appointed by the Nevis Tourism Authority to promote their charming, unspoilt island to the UK market. Nevis has a sense of authenticity and natural beauty that sets it apart from the other islands in the Caribbean. Although a small island destination, Rooster is eager to ensure Nevis gets the international attention it deserves.”

This is Rooster’s twelfth client win since lockdown began in March. Nevis Tourism joins the agency’s varied roster of travel & tourism clients, including Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, and Flight Centre.
