In the wake of St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Belfast, students and staff from Student Roost have helped clear more than 30 sacks of rubbish from the Holylands area in south Belfast during a city clean-up.
The ‘Big Spring Clean’, organised by Queen’s University Belfast, took place on Wednesday 20 March to help clear litter from student areas. The team from student accommodation provider, Student Roost, litter-picked alongside the University organisers and Belfast City Council.
Anna Killough, Student Roost’s Belfast City Manager, said: “Holylands has become a popular area in Belfast for St Patrick’s Day celebrations, this year being no exception, so we wanted to do our bit to make sure residents in the area are able to get back to clean, litter-free streets after the event.
“It was great to see everyone come together and work in teams to tackle the issue.”
