Rooster’s Swinging Summer Social

Stances rehearsed and pep talks given, the Rooster team headed out of the office to the Chigwell branch of Topgolf for a late summers evening of golfing fun.
After being split into four teams (courtesy of a lucky dip selection), and upon arrival at the vast two-tiered venue, each of us were given a basket of microchipped golf balls and a selection of golf clubs. The aim of the game was to hit coloured, dartboard-like targets in the ground on the outfield – think golf, ten-pin bowling and darts rolled into one. Simply put, the closer to the centre or ‘bull’s-eye’ you got your ball, the more points you received. It’s safe to say that some of us had the knack for it more so than others!
As the competition got underway celebratory cheers and high-fives signalled successful shots and mounting points. A welcome pit stop came in the form of a tasty buffet spread, to line our stomachs for the game ahead.
As the round came to a close awards were presented, with the much sought-after title of ‘Event Winner’ and ‘Longest Drive’ going to Head of Digital Nick, ‘Closest to the Flag’ to CEO Henry and ‘Event Second Place’ to Account Manager Yasmine – all of which are now taking pride of place on the desks at Waterloo House. However, as with every competition someone had to come last, and on this occasion the wooden spoon was presented to Rooster’s MD James… there’s always next time!
Award or not, a great night was had by all and we’re very much looking forward to the next outing!
