The awards, which recognise companies, projects and individuals in the digital economy who are leading the way for positive impact, saw Borrow A Boat scooping the top honour in the marketplace category for their work in connecting boat owners and renters on a global scale.

Founder and CEO Matt Ovenden commented: “After a tough few years for the travel industry, it’s just brilliant that our tireless work connecting boat owners and renters has been recognised by the BOLD Awards.

“At Borrow A Boat, we’re on a mission to disrupt the boating industry, bringing affordable and flexible boating experiences to the mainstream, while generating extra income for boat owners.

“The next step for us is to achieve a world first for a boat charter marketplace – to IPO in 2022. This follows a string of successful crowdfunding rounds, acquisitions and country expansions.”

Borrow A Boat currently has access to over 45,000 boats in more than 65 countries worldwide, and now sits comfortably as one of the world’s leading yacht charter and boat rental marketplaces.

Borrow A Boat is part of the vanguard of companies digitising the global charter market which is set to be worth $30bn annually by 2027.
