Real Response Media is delighted to reveal the shortlist for the 2020 Wave Awards, the most prestigious accolades in the UK cruise sector.

The Wave Awards 2020 celebrate the very best of the UK’s cruise industry by recognising and rewarding excellence and exceptional experience, both on board and ashore, across the sector.

This year there were new categories to enter, including Best Specialist Cruise Agent and Best Brand Partnership. In addition, the Cruise Trade News Best Companies Programme is an  initiative that makes its debut this year, designed to discover the best companies to work for in the cruise industry.

Other categories included Best Luxury Cruise Line, Best River Cruise Line, Best Ocean Cruise Line and Best Destination and more, as well as seven passenger favourite awards, voted for by the public.

This year there were more than 82,000 votes cast across all the categories, an increase of 13,000 on 2019, making 2020 the most voted for year yet.

The Passenger Favourite Categories will incorporate the five top finalists, with the third, second, and first places announced at the ceremony on 2 April 2020 at stunning central London venue 8 Northumberland Avenue.

Readers who voted in the passenger favourite categories are in with a chance of winning a seven-night Aegean voyage courtesy of Celestyal Cruises.

Real Response Media group editor Colette Doyle said: “The Wave Awards are the highlight of the cruise calendar and our shortlist demonstrates a wide range of success and innovation across the sector, whether that’s from travel agencies and their online booking platforms, or environmental projects undertaken by cruise lines to cut emissions.”

Real Response Media publishing director Peter Grant added: “The 2020 event promises to be our biggest yet, with a first-class venue hosting a wonderful evening of celebration.

“Winning a Wave Award is a prestigious acknowledgement of hard work, innovation and teamwork, highlighting all those who strive, every day, to raise awareness of the cruise industry and entice a growing number of holidaymakers to book a cruise.

“I would personally like to thank everyone who entered and extend my best wishes to all those on the shortlist.”
