Ecoffee Cup & William Morris Partnership Raises £60,000 To Fund Cultural Programmes for London Children

Annual royalties from sales of Ecoffee Cup’s William Morris collection support the Gallery’s arts programmes for underprivileged children and teens in the capital.

Design-driven brands Ecoffee Cup and William Morris first came together in October 2016. The ensuing collaboration has proven hugely successful for both parties; in the last 12 months alone, over 200,000 William Morris editions of the Ecoffee Cup have been sold, generating revenues of over £700,000 and royalties of almost £60,000.

Based in the designer’s East London childhood home, the William Morris Gallery houses the largest collection of Morris-related items in the world. The popularity of this unique reusable cup collection has generated additional funds that have proven a welcome boost for the Gallery’s cultural programmes, including creative activities for under-fives, family days and a young curators’ programme for teenagers. Funds raised also help to support the conservation of the Gallery’s collection of historic textiles.

The partnership has also broadened the global audience for the quintessentially British William Morris brand, with almost fifty percent of revenue being generated outside the UK. The timeless appeal of William Morris’ designs is proving to be a draw for audiences in countries as diverse as Japan, Germany, Australia and South Africa.
