Rooster to Launch Pioneering Flight Booking Platform, SelfConnect

Rooster is delighted to announce its appointment by SelfConnect, a new flight booking platform set to revolutionise the way passengers book flights and travel long-haul.

Launching next week, SelfConnect is an independent flight booking tool that links low cost airlines with long-haul carriers.

SelfConnect’s ground-breaking agreements with ‘Partner’ (long-haul) airlines and the ability to combine these with ‘Link’ (low-cost short-haul) carriers will facilitate countless and unique benefits for business and leisure travellers, including: the protection of a guaranteed onward flight without being limited to more costly flight options that offer a through check-in; the ability to depart from several UK and regional airports, removing the need to transit via major hubs such as LGW or LHR; lower prices for long-haul journeys, not only as a result of the incorporation of low-cost fares but also thanks to exclusive prices offered by the long haul carriers; and the ability to book two (or more) flights in one single transaction.

Rooster’s brief is to launch the new site, raise awareness of the benefits of using SelfConnect, and maintain momentum for the brand and product post-launch with a sustained and strategic PR campaign targeting independent travellers across the UK.

Sam Argyle, SelfConnect director, says: “We are delighted to have Rooster on board to launch SelfConnect. We have followed the agency’s works and achievements with interest and the team has demonstrated a strategic and creative approach to help SelfConnect gain traction in a crowded marketplace.”

“SelfConnect is an exciting new proposition in the flight booking space and one that we’re confident will grab the attention of media and consumers alike” says James Brooke, managing director at Rooster PR. “We’re looking forward to launching the brand and promoting its innovative offering.”

SelfConnect launches with easy booking of low-cost Link Airlines including Norwegian, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Germanwings, among others, enabling customers to take advantage of competitive fares and a vast network of UK and European regional departures.

The OTA’s ‘Partner’ Airlines for launch are Avianca and Aerolíneas Argentinas. Combined with short-haul routes, the Colombian and Argentinian carriers will connect Brits from 12 UK departure points (LGW, EDI, LPL, SEN, BRS, LTN, NCL, BFS, BHD, BHX, CWL and MAN) to 45 destinations in 14 countries throughout the South American continent via Madrid or Barcelona, including: Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Cuba, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Mexico, Uruguay, Costa Rica and El Salvador.

About SelfConnect:
Launching on 27th October 2015, SelfConnect is a pioneering new independent online flight booking platform, offering unique benefits for business and leisure travellers.

Thanks to ground-breaking agreements with long-haul ‘Partner Airlines’ and the ability to connect these with low-cost, short-haul ‘Link Airlines’, SelfConnect is able to offer customers the best possible fares, the promise of guaranteed transfers, and enables customers to book two or more flights – combining low cost with national and commercial long-haul carriers – in one single transaction.

Passenger benefits:

  1. Payment for two or more flights using different airlines and including low-cost options in one single transaction
  2. Security of a guaranteed transfer between low cost and long-haul airlines
  3. Departures from local (UK and European) airports, removing the need to transit via major hubs such as LGW or LHR
  4. Low cost short-haul flight + exclusive low fares on long haul flights = hugely competitive overall fares
  5. A live-fares booking system reflects any special offers or seasonal sale prices for both link and partner airlines
  6. SelfConnect connects previously ‘disconnected’ airlines or routes
