Hawkes Cider Supermarket Launch: Sainsbury’s to Stock Hawkes from 22 May

From Sunday 22 May, Hawkes ciders will be stocked in approximately 150 Sainsbury’s stores across London and key UK cities.
London’s first urban Cidery, Hawkes turns unloved, ‘wonky’, or surplus apples into delicious real-apple cider and is on a mission to dispel the misconceptions around cider by injecting personality and modernising the offering.
The ciders going into the supermarket giant this weekend are the juicy, sharp and lush Dead & Berried, and the tropical, zingy and off-beat Pineapple Punch; set to be the real star for the spring-summer season.
With an ABV of 4% and sold in cans of 330ml, Sainsbury’s will sell Hawkes at £1.50 a can.
Available in a number of independent London pubs, UK pub groups, in Wagamama (a special Asian inspired edition, Fuji Cider) and at Hawkes’ own Bermondsey-based railway arch Cidery & Taproom, consumers can also purchase cans of Hawkes via the online shop.
Hawkes Lead, Elliot Allison, says: “This latest off-trade listing is an important milestone for us. We’re thrilled that Hawkes is now more accessible to Londoners and Brits, especially now that the summer weather is finally kicking in and ahead of the Jubilee festivities.
“Our ciders are vibrant, fresh and flavourful, offering a great summer alternative to the usual summer suspects of Prosecco or Aperol Spritz. And you can enjoy them safe in the knowledge that you’re saving unwanted fruit going to waste!”
Hawkes currently boasts three core real-apple ciders – Urban Orchard, Dead & Berried and Pineapple Punch, but there will be a number of exciting new launches in the coming months, so watch this space!
