Foreign Airlines Association Relaunches Ahead of 70th Anniversary

Committee Aims to Build upon 25 Percent Membership Growth of Past Two Years.

The Foreign Airlines Association (FAA), the UK’s leading networking association for foreign airline executives, today officially relaunches with a fresh new brand, website and mission.

Celebrating its 70th anniversary in October 2016, the FAA’s facelift is timely. Chairman, Colin Stewart, comments: “One of my key priorities when elected Chairman was to modernise the association to bring it into the 21st century. With constant technological innovation and evermore savvy consumers, the airline industry has changed significantly. If the FAA is to continue to deliver real value to members, it must evolve.”

Membership of the FAA has risen by over 25% in the past two years. The latest foreign carriers to join include All Nippon Airways (ANA), AeroMexico, Royal Brunei, Pakistan International Airlines and Garuda Indonesia. With 27 airlines on board today, the FAA is hoping to grow its member base further, using its newly revised and more coherent image, messaging and voice.

The new-look FAA relaunches with a new website and logo (see www.foreignairlines.co.uk), however, the modernisation of the association goes beyond these aesthetic elements.

“It is about re-establishing confidence and adding value to our airline and associate members” continues Stewart. “Almost 70 years have passed since the FAA was founded and as we look forward to celebrating this milestone, it is crucial that the foundations are in place to ensure the FAA’s continued success for the next 70 years.”

A priority of this new chapter for the FAA is to identify ways of working more closely with the Board of Airline Representatives in the UK (BAR UK), which plays a vital role in representing the interests of not only its airline members, but the industry as a whole. “With airlines signing up to both associations, there are obvious and natural synergies between the FAA and BAR UK” says Stewart, “and this is a relationship that I am looking forward to developing over the coming months.”

The FAA UK is the world’s longest established association of its kind, offering members the opportunity to meet likeminded airline representatives, promote their airline, discuss matters of mutual interest and share expertise and best practice via regular networking events throughout the year.

As well as giving members the opportunity to share ideas, views or concerns in a non-competitive environment, the FAA adds value to every member by exposing them to the expertise and guidance of some of the industry’s leading authorities at their events. Talks are on a wide range of topics relating to the successful management and marketing of an airline in the UK.

About the FAA:
The Foreign Airlines Association (FAA) is the UK’s leading networking association for foreign airline executives.

With almost 70 years of experience, FAA UK is the world’s longest established association of its kind, facilitating the exchange of expertise and best practice among the foreign airline community in the UK via regular networking events.

It provides the perfect platform for members to promote their airline, meet likeminded airline executives and discuss matters of mutual interest in a non-competitive, professional yet informal environment.

The FAA adds value to every member by exposing them to the expertise and guidance of some of the industry’s leading authorities, offering talks on a wide range of topics relating to the successful management and marketing of an airline in the UK.

Matters discussed at FAA networking events often result in concerns and recommendations being presented to the Board of Airline Representatives in the UK (BAR UK) for further consideration and can be instrumental in influencing commercial decisions affecting all airlines with a presence in the country.

The strong relationship that the FAA has fostered with BAR UK throughout the past decades is an important conduit for members and one that considerably enhances any FAA membership.

FAA’s ultimate goal is to ensure members are given the opportunity to share ideas, views, recommendations, challenges and concerns in a friendly environment in order to help them find practical and tested solutions among a support network of skilled and likeminded peers.

The FAA celebrates its 70th anniversary on 30 October 2016.
