Casa Alamanda Moclín, a stunning Andalucían-style townhouse that was renovated by Alan Carr and Amanda Holden on BBC One’s Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job, is now accepting bookings.
Located in the rural Andalucían village of Moclín, guests can stay in the self-catered, exclusive-use rental from Wednesday 24 September 2025, which accommodates up to six guests.
The elegant holiday home is finished and dressed exactly as it was in the show, giving guests a truly authentic stay and experience. Visitors to Casa Alamanda Moclín can expect interiors inspired by the original design of the property, as well as thoughtful, stylistic touches ideated and executed by Amanda Holden and Alan Carr themselves, with help from local artisans to make their vision a reality.
The property is equipped with three distinctively themed double bedrooms, including the famous ‘Moroccan Bedroom’ with an ornate hand-crafted ceiling, a beautifully framed King-sized bed and French windows opening onto Juliet balconies overlooking the village square.
Two bathrooms, a rustic dining and reception room, a kitchen and breakfast room and London club-style games and bar room are impeccably furnished. Outside under blue skies, visitors can enjoy a private front and rear patio with stairs up to a roof terrace overlooking the bustle of the village.
Moclín is a beautiful, history-steeped thirteenth-century village in the northwest hills of Granada Province, famous for its stunning views over the Sierra Nevada mountains and a Moorish castle built by the Nasrid rulers. During the Reconquista of the Kingdom of Granada in 1486, the Catholic Monarchs, Isabel and Ferdinand, made Moclín a strategic base.
Today, the village is a perfect example of the authentic Andalucían lifestyle. Despite only being home to some 3,500 inhabitants, the seven villages that make up the Moclín municipality host over a dozen highly attended fiestas throughout the year, making the region ideal for experiencing authentic rural Spanish culture.
Two of Moclín’s most popular festivals are the upcoming Cristo del Paño (5 October) and Fiesta de San Antón (17 January). The former is attended by an average of 15,000 pilgrims each year, including the late avant-garde poet and playwright Federico García Lorca who then went on to write about it in his 1934 masterpiece, Yerma.
As a year-round holiday destination, its location is within reach of the Costa Tropical and Sierra Nevada, making it ideal for combining skiing and beach holidays, with snowy slopes and coastal temperatures in the twenties.
Hikers also flock to the region, with several routes providing the opportunity to explore the natural beauty that surrounds the village. The most notable is La Ruta del Gollizno, which is considered a more enjoyable, crowd-free alternative to the more famous Caminito del Rey.
Rates for Casa Alamanda Moclín start from €195 nightly / €1,365 weekly in low season and from €225 nightly / €1,575 weekly in high season.
Casa Alamanda Moclín’s proud new Welsh owners, Nicola & Mickey Walters, have pledged to contribute 15% of all rental income to the local women’s association, which featured in episode four as Amanda made traditional pastries with her neighbours, accompanied by shots of Anis

One year on: Rescuing Moclín from rural depopulation
Before its Amanda & Alan restoration, the property was a family townhouse and local shop that had been empty for 35 years before falling into disrepair; symbolic of the depopulation in rural Andalucian villages.
Over the years, the younger generations in Moclín have been forced to leave the village in search of employment opportunities in more populous cities, resulting in a glut of abandoned homes.
Ian Rutter and Andrew Watson, founders of estate agency and property management company Granada Village & Country, have seen the property through every stage: managing the sale to the BBC, supporting with the restoration, selling to the new owners, and now appointed property managers of the holiday home.
Ian and Andrew are passionate about breathing new life into rural Andalucía having also established Granada Cultural Holidays, offering small group holidays for the cultured traveller to learn about the landscapes, art, music, food, history and people of Moclín. One year on from the conclusion of filming Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job, they have witnessed a notable boost to the village.
“When we were approached by the show’s producers, we immediately recognised an opportunity to breathe new life into Moclín,” said Ian. “It was months of hard work with many obstacles to navigate, but the impact it’s had on the village is more than worth it. Post-airing in January 2025, sightseers were visiting the village daily to take photographs outside the ‘as seen on the BBC’ property, and we know local businesses have experienced an uplift, including our own.
“One year on from filming, pride and optimism has returned to the village, and now that Casa Alamanda Moclín is available for holidaymakers to stay it’s a wonderful full-circle moment for the villagers who’ve seen it through the full transformation. Visitors will be given a very warm welcome to this beautiful rural village.”
Since Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job aired, Ian and Andrew’s own holiday home, Esperanza 9, which featured in episode 7 of the series, has been booked solidly all year.
Mario Costela Martín, the owner of the nearby Bar La Plaza, was of great help to the renovation by allowing the contractors to use power from his bar during renovation.
Mario said: “The number of visitors from the UK who came to see the house skyrocketed [following the show airing], and as a result they are staying in the village, and buying food and drink here. I think it’s been a great step forward for Moclín’s social life.”
Owner of Bar El Salón, Mari Cruz Roman Costela, has also noticed a positive impact on business since the airing of the series.
“The series has been beneficial as it has given Moclín a lot of visibility to the rest of the world, especially in the United Kingdom, and we’ve noticed an increase in the number of foreigners visiting us over the last year, which is likely due to the show,” said Mari Cruz.
