Why South West? Why Now?

After 25 years as a ‘leading London PR agency’, it was time to spread our wings beyond the capital. As Rooster has evolved, we risked weakening our proposition by continuing to pigeon-hole ourselves demographically.
Our team is comprised of amazing personalities who come from all over the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. From Stockport to France, Folkestone to New Zealand, Devon to the USA. Being London-based, the multi-cultural capital of the world, it was no wonder we attracted this melting pot of talented people. But we know that talented, ambitious, hardworking and creative people live all over. Just because we started in London and our head office is there, that doesn’t mean we are inherently London.

When I announced to James, our MD and Yasmine, our Head of PR, that my partner and I planned to relocate to Bristol in autumn 2022, I envisaged a natural parting of ways. Little did I know I’d secure the backing of Rooster to launch its first regional office.

We moved on a wet and windy Saturday in November 2022, and by the Monday I was set up with a fabulous desk in our office based in Origin, Berkeley Square, in the heart of Bristol. It was an exciting time for me and the agency, with ambitious plans for growth at a time when the creative communications industry was riding high on a post-Covid wave.
Meanwhile, my personal life also welcomed lots of change and growth. By January I was pregnant, and February we had a 12-week-old puppy. Let’s just say I didn’t know I was pregnant when we picked the puppy!
Like many people considering starting a family, I went back and forth thinking ‘maybe just one more year being career focused, who knows what successes and milestones I might achieve in that time.’ But as many of you reading this will know, starting a family isn’t always easy, so we didn’t want to delay.
Our beautiful daughter arrived safely, devastatingly our sweet and cheeky labrador passed (a wild three months of overwhelming love and heartbreak, that’s for sure), and 20 months later, I feel like I’m slightly back to square one. Which I am, but I’m okay with that, because I have grown and flourished, and am ready for the challenge.
So why South West? Why not?! We aren’t just a leading London agency, we are an award-winning creative communications agency, bringing some of the best creative minds together from all over the world to work on national and international brands.
And why now? Well, I hope I’ve already explained that part.
