WOW air Expansion: Flights from London to Delhi via Iceland from just £149

WOW air Expansion: Flights from London to Delhi via Iceland from just £149
15 May 2018 James Brooke

Low-cost airline WOW air has today announced flights to India from its Icelandic hub, the airline’s first destination in South Asia.

From 6 December, those looking to travel to Delhi will be able to take off from London Gatwick and enjoy a short stop-over in Iceland before the ten and a half hour onward journey to India’s vibrant capital territory.

The route is the first step in the carrier’s next phase of cross continental expansion, having launched a plethora of transatlantic services over the past three years. While UK travellers using the service will initially travel west, the airline expects its competitive fares to still entice those looking to keep their costs down.

Fares start from as little as £149* one way including taxes, or for passengers looking for a more luxe experience WOW premium** prices start from just £499 one-way including taxes.

Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of WOW air, said: “We are delighted to announce our network expansion in to India. This exciting new route is an important milestone in the growth of WOW air and signifies our continuing mission to open the skies and enable even greater travel possibilities, always at the best rates possible.”

Serviced by the airline’s brand new A330neo wide body jet liner, the new route to Delhi will operate three times per week from Iceland, increasing to five times per week from January 2019. Flights from London Gatwick to Reykjavik operate twice daily.

WOW air currently serves 38 destinations across Europe, North America and Canada. For more information, or to book tickets please visit: www.wowair.co.uk
