Topgolf UK has announced a charity partnership with Make-A-Wish® UK, the charity that grants magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
Topgolf has planned a number of charity initiatives, from donations on menu items, to associates taking part in charity skydives, and running the London Marathon – all in an effort to help raise funds and boost the profile of Make-A-Wish.
Kicking off the fundraising is the Topgolf team at Addlestone, Surrey, who took part in a charity skydive on September 1. Eleven team members signed up to the event and each has committed to raising at least £395 for the good cause, which has amounted to £5,156.45 so far.
Topgolf’s National Director of Operations, Dominic Taylor says “We are delighted to announce Make-A-Wish as Topgolf UK’s first national charity partnership. The work that Make-A-Wish does for children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions is inspiring and we are committed to helping create more memories for families and make those wishes come true.
“As well as taking part in events like the skydive, we will also be raising money at our three venues situated in Addlestone, Watford and Chigwell, with other fundraising events and special menus, to allow our customers to get involved in the fundraising too.”
All three Topgolf venues are currently donating £1 for every Double Smokehouse Burger purchased.
This year, Make-A-Wish is celebrating 30 years of granting the wishes of over 10,000 seriously ill children. Each wish is unique to the child and the charity works hard to make each one as magical as possible. Wishes granted range from meeting a favourite popstar to being a princess for the day – and all are tailored to provide a personal experience and lasting memory for the family.
There are currently 20,000 children and young people in the UK fighting a life-threatening condition. In 2016 Make-A-Wish wants to grant more than 1,000 wishes. Make-A-Wish receives no government funding – so every donation really does count.

Notes to editors:
Please note that Make-A-Wish does not use phrases such as ‘terminally ill’ in order to respect the sensitive nature of life-threatening conditions and what they mean to children and young people and their families. We would ask that this approach is followed and that the term ‘life-threatening conditions’ is used in material for publication.
Make-A-Wish should be referred to as Make-A-Wish® UK in the first instance. Thereafter ‘Make-A-Wish’ is suitable. We would ask that you try to keep ‘Make-A-Wish’ on the same line.
