
The Role:
Rooster is seeking a dynamic and ambitious PR Account Director to join our thriving Travel and Tourism team. Working with top-tier clients, including tourist boards, tour operators, luxury resorts, cruise lines, and transportation services, the PR Account Director will drive high-impact PR campaigns, build industry-leading media relationships, and play a key role in the wider agency growth and business development.
You Will:
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to travel and tourism clients, offering insight-led counsel on PR, communications, and reputation management.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team, both in capacity as a line manager and as an effective client lead.
- Develop and execute strategic PR campaigns that align with clients’ business goals, demonstrating creativity, commercial awareness, and a results-driven mindset.
- Have great attention to detail and impeccable written and editing skills to craft compelling press materials and client messaging that cut through in a competitive media landscape.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key travel and tourism journalists, influencers, and industry stakeholders to drive meaningful media coverage.
- Showcase faultless PR campaign development skills and add value to every initiative
- Spearhead business development in the travel and tourism sectors for the agency, alongside the Head of Travel
- Be accountable for results and manage budgets effectively
- Oversee campaign measurement and evaluation, ensuring clear KPIs, strong ROI, and continuous improvement in approach.
- Be an ambassador for Rooster at client, industry and networking events
- Conduct performance reviews with staff and ensure retention and development
- Train and mentor team members to ensure client and business objectives are achieved
- Be committed to accountability, thrive on transparency, live by results

You Have:
- Circa 5+ years’ experience in travel/tourism PR (agency, in-house comms, or similar). This is a guide and all applications will be considered based on skills and expertise.
- A knack for identifying stories and campaign concepts, and creatively developing them for maximum impact and ROI
- An impressive media and business contacts list in the travel space
- Proven results for communications efforts for travel, tourism, and/or leisure brands on a variety of budgets
- People management and capacity planning experience
- A strong track record for supporting new business efforts
- Powerful presentations skills
- Your finger on the pulse of the news cycle
- An understanding of cross-cultural communication
- A good understanding of crisis management practices and when to bring in senior assistance
- A passion for travel and inspiring others to explore the world

The Package:
A competitive salary of up to £50,000, with flexibility based on experience and expertise.
