Property Developer Partners with Experian to Help London’s Renters

Property Developer Partners with Experian to Help London’s Renters
1 November 2023 Samantha Anderson

Fairview New Homes extends partnership with Experian to educate buyers on how to escape the rental cycle with an event in London this November.

Following the Hamptons report that predicts London rental prices will rise 25% in the next two years alone, property developer Fairview New Homes has once again partnered with Experian to host an educational event to inform London renters on how they can escape an increasingly unsustainable rental market and get on the property ladder.

In a national survey conducted by Fairview, the top three concerns people have about buying their first home are mortgage rates (27%), understanding how the property market works (23%), and not knowing where to start (23%). This event aims to combat all of these concerns with a series of educational talks and one-to-one discussions with industry professionals from Fairview New Homes, Experian, and mortgage advisors, Torc24. This follows a successful initial partnership event at another Fairview development – Epping Gate in Essex – earlier this year which helped numerous buyers navigate the home-buying process.

The event, taking place from 10am-5pm on Saturday 11 November at Dock28 in Woolwich, aims to help hopeful London buyers get ‘mortgage-ready’.

Consumer Affairs Manager at Experian, John Webb, will be holding talks at 11:30am and 2:30pm to educate attendees on how to look after their credit history, including opportunities to boost your credit score, the importance of checking monthly budgets, having paperwork organised and research conducted on the lender market…with more to be revealed at the event. The credit score expert will also be available for one-to-one sessions in between.

John Webb, Consumer Affairs Manager, said, “Credit scores remain a key priority for buyers planning on buying a home with a mortgage, particularly as finances continue to be put under pressure with rising interest rates and the prevalent cost of living crisis. This is being felt nowhere more so than in the capital.

If you’re concerned that there could be a blemish on your credit report or feel there may be steps that you can take to strengthen it, be sure to review your report before your mortgage lender puts it under the microscope- especially given that some lenders have been tightening their criteria. We will be discussing how to review your report and the steps that you can take to address any blemishes at this event at Dock28 amongst other handy tips and tricks for first-time buyers.”

Chris Hood, Sales and Marketing Director at Fairview New Homes, says, “Following the success of our first event with Experian to educate buyers at Epping Gate, the natural step was to bring this educational workshop to the part of England that is suffering most with rising rental costs.

As we witness London’s rental market become increasingly crowded and as such, increasingly expensive, this second instalment of our partnership with Experian continues our commitment to helping first-time buyers, with a good credit score and sound mortgage advice being integral pillars in the home buying process.”

Mortgage advisors, Torc24 will be also on hand for one-to-one sessions to provide support and answer any questions attendees might have about mortgage rates, products and applying for a mortgage. There will be complementary hot drinks and freshly made pizzas available to those who have booked appointments.

Guests will also have the opportunity to talk to Fairview’s team of sales experts to discuss tailored buying plans and discover the incredible incentives that they can leverage to help them purchase their first home, including an exclusive £5,000 deposit boost for anyone who reserves a home on the day of the event.

Starting from £325,000, Dock28 offers a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom duplexes just a stone’s throw from the river Thames. A selection of homes will be ready to move into from November 2023.

Each home comes with its own private outside space and access to private communal podium gardens.

The development is just a 16-minute walk from Woolwich station where residents can access the Elizabeth Line. National Rail and the DLR can be found at Woolwich Arsenal, a 19-minute walk.
