Flight Centre Launches “Experience Our Experience” in the UK – its First Global Marketing Campaign

Flight Centre staff show off their world class knowledge and experience.

In a global first, Flight Centre Travel Group has launched a marketing campaign called “Experience our Experience”. As an experienced travel company, which opened its first shop in the UK in 1995, the Flight Centre Travel Group has over 14,000 years’ of experience across five continents

The marketing campaign, which launches today, boldly explains – “There’s nowhere we haven’t been!” with the response, ‘been there’. The marketing campaign showcases a family holiday in Thailand, a road trip across America, a couple being whisked off to the Caribbean and a safari holiday – just a selection of travel experiences that Flight Centre specialise in and their employees having world class experience in.

Liz Mathews, UK General Manager of Flight Centre commented on the marketing initiative saying: “We can appreciate that as travel reopens holidaymakers might be apprehensive about where to start. Just like the couple at the beginning of our new campaign video shown surrounded by maps and sticky notes, planning doesn’t have to be confusing or frustrating. We’ve launched our “Been There” campaign to instil consumer confidence and encourage those who are ready to travel that Flight Centre can tailor-make it easy by people who’ve really been there.”

In addition, the “Experience our Experience” campaign unveils not just one captain, but a whole crew of diverse co-captains, both male and female, who represent different countries and a host of diverse backgrounds. All of the new co-captains are real-life Flight Centre employees, working in a variety of roles within the business.

Liz Mathews, UK General Manager continues: “Our new Captains represent the pride that Flight Centre has in its people and the countries that it operates in globally. The seven new co-captains are designed to bring the joy back into travel, especially at this crucial time when customers are looking to use the skill, expertise and trust of a travel agent.”

A new main captain, has also been appointed from within the business. Rather than employing an actor to fill the role, Flight Centre’s very own Tom Walley was chosen for the role. Tom, has 19 years at Flight Centre, originally trained as a commercial pilot and qualified just before the financial crisis hit, then reinvented himself at Flight Centre where he is also the general manager of Flight Centre Travel Group’s Corporate Traveller brand in Australia.
