Givergy Takes Over Fundraising Arm of Lumi

Deal marks further international growth for the British tech business.

Givergy, the award-winning fundraising technology company, has announced the acquisition of the fundraising arm of former competitor, Lumi Fundraiser.

The deal will see Lumi’s fundraising division become part of Givergy whose growing number of platforms help charities raise more at fundraising events and online.

Lumi, previously known as IML, was a pioneer in the charity tech market and have struck the deal as part of a strategic decision to focus on its core corporate tech offerings.

The deal, which is effective from 1 March 2016, will see Givergy immediately offer Lumi’s existing clients its own robust product offerings thus further strengthening their client base in Hong Kong, Europe and America.

As part of the acquisition, Richmond-based Givergy has also taken on five existing Lumi staff in Australia, helping them to grow their international presence and open up this new territory too.

Givergy’s Global Director of Business Development, Jon Douglas said: “Lumi has been in the event tech market for over a decade and has built a great reputation and client base during that time. We were initially approached by them to acquire their fundraising arm in November 2015 and following several months of discussion we are delighted to have struck a deal which makes total sense for both firms.

“Australia alone is the beginning of a new territory for us and a huge amount of work will go into developing these fantastic existing relationships as well as continuing to build new ones in the US, Hong Kong and Australia.”
