We’re Hiring: Account Executive – Business & Corporate

We’re Hiring: Account Executive – Business & Corporate
12 January 2021 James Brooke

Job Type: Full Time. Permanent

Why now? Why this role?

Rooster has evolved dramatically in recent years, diversifying into several sectors and industries spanning b2b technology & services, property/real estate, corporate, consumer and crisis comms. In order to better represent who we are, what we do and who for, we launched a major rebrand for Rooster’s 20th birthday, a significant milestone in the agency’s history. As a result, our Business & Corporate Team won seven new clients in 2020 alone and we’re consistently receiving exciting new business enquiries since, cementing our position as a leading independent multi-sector agency. We are expanding our dedicated b2b team in order to support both current and future clients in this space, as we continue to grow at pace.

Who are we looking for?

A technologically-minded, analytical and ambitious Account Executive, hungry to learn and driven to make a difference for clients and for Rooster. We want someone who will bring fresh ideas, who’ll question the status quo and always look for ways Rooster can improve, not only in servicing our clients but in how we work together. We don’t expect you to have all the answers, but we do expect conversation starters. We need you to demonstrate agility and versatility; capable of diving into different tasks and clients as and when needed. In-tune with and inspired by current affairs.

Skills and experience.

Ideally with one-two years’ experience in PR or within media/journalism. Experience in b2b industries is preferable but not required. A good understanding of business needs and challenges. Skilled in technical writing and a confident presenter; there’s no ‘behind the scenes’ roles at Rooster. A strong knowledge of the media landscape is a must.

Note: we’re only able to consider applicants that are authorised to work in the UK.

What you’ll be doing.

Key support for account teams across around four clients. We need you to be the eyes and ears for each client. You’ll be conducting and analysing research, pitching to media and writing press content including press releases, features and commentary. We’ll want your opinions and ideas brought to team and agency brainstorms.

What you’ll get from us.

As we’re an independent SME agency delivering award-winning results, every single person at Rooster is an essential asset, not only in contributing the necessary skills, creativity and work ethic, but in supporting and encouraging each other. We are committed to your development and will provide regular training and one-to-one mentorship to nurture you through your career at Rooster.

We celebrate the little wins and rally together in the more challenging times. Have a listen of our podcast here to get to know the team.

The package.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including Vitality private health cover, a 0% interest employee holiday loan and a one-month sabbatical after five years.

We also award ‘Hit of the Month’ to those stand-out results, whether it’s a successful campaign, landing near-impossible press coverage or winning over a new client, decided by an anonymous vote.

Usually two socials a year, summer and Christmas, based on business performance. 3pm Friday social drinks (currently on zoom, normally now tea/coffee) open to anyone if they have time.

Where.

We currently work remotely but we will return to a central London office once it’s safe and sensible to do so.

The process.

Tell us why you’re the person for this job. Send us your pitch, no longer than two paragraphs, to [email protected] with your CV attached.

We will shortlist candidates for an initial video call with Rooster’s Head of PR, Yasmine Triana.

Successful candidates will be given a task to present to Yasmine, along with MD James Brooke and one other account team member.

We are ready to hire immediately, but we will wait for the right person.
