A HEARTFELT JustGiving campaign has been created for Simon and Jasmine Dale and their family to rebuild their lives after their eco home was sadly destroyed by a house fire on New Year’s Day.
The unusual eco house, based in the sustainable community of Lammas in rural Pembrokeshire famously featured on Grand Designs and was described as ‘the cheapest house ever built in the Western Hemisphere’ when it appeared on the Channel 4 programme in 2016.
However, the build was a real labour of love and the couple spent six years building it using reclaimed materials and sheep’s wool as insulation.
On the JustGiving page it reads: “Sadly a fire started on New Year’s Day and their beloved home was burned to the ground. Luckily no one was hurt but as you can imagine, the family are devastated.”
Firefighters fought at the scene for more than six hours but unfortunately the house was completely destroyed.
