WOW air offers cut price fares to Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Giving travellers in South West England the perfect excuse to escape the winter chill and jet off to warmer weather, Icelandic airline WOW air has announced that it will be offering flights from Bristol to popular Californian destinations Los Angeles and San Francisco from just £1391.

Equating to just 2.5 pence per mile of travel (based on journey from BRS-LAX), this fare will be available to book for departures taking place from today until the end of March, with limited seats available.

“WOW air’s goal is to enable everybody to fly by offering the lowest fares on the market,” said Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of WOW air. “It’s exciting to be driving change in the industry and to stimulate the market by offering these super low fares across the Atlantic. I am very proud that by offering £139 fares we are enabling thousands of people to travel and experience this vibrant part of the world, that otherwise could not afford it.”

Flights depart Bristol Airport for San Francisco and Los Angeles twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, with a short stop at the airline’s hub in Reykjavik en-route. Travellers wanting to experience Iceland can also stopover for up to a week at no extra charge.

WOW air currently flies from three UK departure points; London Gatwick, Bristol and Edinburgh, serving 30 destinations across Europe, America and Canada. Notable recent route announcements include Miami (from April 2017) and Pittsburgh (commencing June 2017).
