Transport Yourself to St. Kitts with Your Very Own #StKittsShoutOut
Brits fed up of the cold winter weather can transport themselves to the Caribbean through the medium of music thanks to a new campaign, #StKittsShoutOut.
The initiative, given backing by St. Kitts Tourism Authority, brings a taste of St. Kitts to the UK by showcasing its unique music, local people and idyllic scenery that holidaymakers can experience for themselves.
Anyone can dedicate a song to someone, to be performed by award-winning Kittitian steel pan band EBJ Harmonics, over social media.
They simply need to visit St. Kitts Tourism UK Facebook page and comment on the Shout Out video, stating their requested song and who it is dedicated to and why, using #StKittsShoutOut.
Winners will have their chosen song recorded and filmed for them before being uploaded to the Facebook page with their personal shout out.
“The teaser and launch campaign videos, which saw the EBJ Harmonics perform Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ at Timothy Hill with stunning views across the Atlantic and Caribbean oceans, achieved a combined total of more than 400,000 impressions.”
Facebook users were quick to request their own songs and shout outs, while sharing their own memories of St. Kitts. Showing a bid to escape the cold winter weather of the UK, the winning song to be chosen was ‘Feeling Hot Hot Hot’ by The Merrymen.
EBJ Harmonics will visit St. Kitts’ beautiful beaches, mountain scenery and historic sites to record fan’s shout outs. Video locations include Brimstone Hill, which traces back to the first Western settlements in the region and the lively Frigate Bay beach, home to beachfront bars serving up grilled lobster, Cajun grouper and steamed snapper.
The band will also be recording at former sugar plantation Romney Manor and showcasing St. Kitts’ range of luxury and boutique accommodation.
MJ Byron, of EBJ Harmonics, said: “There’s nothing like the sound of our steel pans to put a smile on your face, rhythm in your feet and warmth in your heart. As an island that depends on tourism and visitors from all over the world, the shout out is a great way for us to spread some Kittitian love and spread some good vibes across the planet – just tell us your song and who it’s dedicated to!”
“Lindsay F.P. Grant, Minister of Tourism, said: “Music is a key part of travelling and relaxation and hopefully #StKittsShoutOut will get people in the mood to come and hear some of our bands in person. People say they feel like they keep a piece of St Kitts in their hearts and we hope our shoutouts help more people feel the warmth of our beautiful island.”

About St. Kitts
St. Kitts is the authentic, quintessential, year-round Caribbean destination for the discerning, experienced traveller. Intoxicating unspoilt natural beauty, sunny skies, warm waters, and white sandy beaches combine to make St. Kitts one of the most seductive spots in the Caribbean. Located in the Eastern Caribbean, the island is easily accessible for British travellers with twice-weekly British Airways flights from London Gatwick (with a short stop in Antigua).
Following the passage of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, St. Kitts & Nevis thankfully sustained minimal damage and the destination is welcoming visitors. The St. Kitts Tourism Authority continues to keep those impacted by Irma and Maria in their thoughts and prayers. The Caribbean Tourism Organization has activated its CTO Relief Fund to help families and countries rebuild after hurricanes, with monies raised being sent directly to CTO-member destinations affected by the catastrophic storm.
