In November 2015, Rooster PR was appointed by award-winning online fundraising company Givergy; a simple, effective online fundraising platform which allows users to take part in flexible auctions and raffles or purchase ‘buy it now’ items to raise money for incredible charitable causes. In 2015, Givergy raised over £25 million for charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Trekstock, the British Heart Foundation and Right To Play.
We were briefed to raise awareness of Givergy’s key auctions as widely as possible in the UK through both traditional PR and social media. Our team has worked closely with Givergy and its charity partners to raise media awareness of the exclusive, high-profile items and experiences available on the site. We have helped Givergy promote incredible lots such as a luxury all-inclusive trip to Las Vegas to see Elton John in concert, the chance to meet 5SOS and tickets to Adele’s sold out UK tour. We focused on the money-can’t-buy nature of the items and celeb-led lots to secure coverage in titles including Sugarscape, Celebrity Intelligence, The Sporting Life, Maximum Pop and The Good Web Guide.
In addition to our media outreach, we have managed Givergy’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts; building up the channels (almost from scratch) to drive awareness, engagement and, ultimately, auction bids. Our team developed strategic social media calendars, supported image creation and ran all activity, from organic posts, engagement with celebrities and charity partners and timely social ad promotions. In just two months, we increased the number of Facebook likes by 765 per cent, Twitter followers by 1,524 per cent and Instagram followers by 50 per cent.
