Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts Welcomes one in every 5.5 Britons Visiting the Maldives
Leading Indian-Ocean brand, Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, continues to dominate the Maldivian resort sector, with one in 5.5 British visitors to the Maldives staying at an Atmosphere property between January-April 2019.
Tourists from the UK account for the most visitors across all four resorts, making up almost a third (31.5%) of the overall market share. At 27% of total guests in 2018, British travellers also account for the most visitors to flagship five-star resort, OZEN by Atmosphere.
The brand portfolio has experienced phenemonal growth since the first resort launch in 2013, and now boasts four properties in the Maldives; Atmosphere Kanifushi (opened December 2013), OBLU at Helengeli (November 2015) OZEN by Atmosphere (July 2016) and OBLU Select at Sangeli (July 2018). Each resort has reported strong occupancy levels in 2018 at 70% or above, with OZEN at 86%, OBLU at Helengeli at 84% OBLU Select at 79% and Atmosphere Kanifushi at 70%.
The latest property to launch within the portfolio is VARU by Atmosphere, opening in October 2019 in North Malé Atoll. Atmosphere Hotels and Resorts has also recently unveiled further expansion plans for four more properties, set to open in 2020 and 2021 across the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
