Croatia Launches New Social Media Campaign Website

Tourists encouraged to tweet, video and Instagram their Croatian holiday.

The Croatian National Tourist Board’s (CNTB) www.ShareCroatia.hr website will go live on the 1 June 2014 and forms part of their recently launched social media campaign entitled Visit Croatia. Share Croatia.

The website will gather new tourist videos posted under the campaign hashtags of #LoveCroatia and #ShareCroatia on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vine in real time, meaning travellers to Croatia could be the faces of the next video campaign.

The current YouTube video campaign was filmed by seven different tourists in Croatia and captures the diversity of Croatia’s tourism offering, including its stunning National Parks, pristine coastline, historical cities, diving and watersports for both couples and families.

Footage was captured by visitors from across the world including Simon Storvic Green from the UK who visited Dubrovnik.

  2. Pawel Wieloch, Poland
  3. Simon Storvik Green, London
  4. Marcin Wozniak, Poland
  5. Ryan Moy, Atlanta USA
  6. Mariusz Sadowski, Poland
  7. Dawid Bara, Poland

Created by BBDO Zagreb, the 20, 30 and 60 second-long campaign videos aim to encourage more visitors to share their experiences of Croatia online.

“The ShareCroatia.hr website is a fantastic addition to our social media campaign as it will continuously showcase new photos, videos and tweets, and has the potential to become a trusted resource for returning and future holidaymakers this year and beyond,” said Tonko Rilović, UK and Ireland Director of the CNTO.

“We’re really proud of our first social media campaign and believe it will go some way to introducing a whole new generation of travellers to the charms of Croatia. There’s a wealth of information about holidaying in Croatia, and our snappy video campaign featuring actual tourists will hopefully provide instant inspiration to those who are still undecided about where to go this summer,” concluded Rilović.

The first four months of 2014 saw the Adriatic hotspot welcome 21,557 Brits, up six per cent on the same period last year, meaning the destination is on track to surpass its 1990s tourism peak as the summer season begins.
