‘We Are Energy’ will showcase the people behind the real Tunisia.

The Tunisian National Tourist Office (TNTO) will attend the upcoming World Travel Market in London (3-6 November) and will unveil its new ‘We Are Energy’ concept at the event.

As well as explaining how the concept aims to refresh the country’s identity as a tourist destination, TNTO representatives can update potential visitors and tourism professionals on the latest news from Tunisia and what the beautiful country has to offer holidaymakers.

UK visitor figures to Tunisia have continued to increase since the Jasmine Revolution. The country aims to reflect this new era of regenerated tourism to potential holidaymakers through the new ‘We Are Energy’ creative. This is being launched in Tunisia’s four main markets: The UK, France, Germany, and Italy.

‘We Are Energy’ aims to give a human face to the magnificent landscapes of Tunisia through portraits of the country’s people – the men and women of Tunisia whose energy and positivity were key factors in the country’s recent democratic transition.

‘We Are Energy’ is modelled around these people: a welcoming people proud of their origins and country, keen to share the experience of “their Tunisia” with as many people as possible. The project will showcase the inspirational people – or ‘energisers’ – that make things happen and those that will help the country to continue to grow.

‘We Are Energy’ will be split into the following themes, to showcase Tunisia through a variety of new perspectives:

  • Alternative energy
  • Cultural energy
  • Entrepreneurial energy
  • Human energy
  • Natural energy
  • Sporting energy
  • Zen energy

At the event Wahida Jaiet, Director General at the Tunisian National Tourist Office, will speak on a panel entitled “Cultivating Sustainable and Peaceful Communities and Nations” on Wednesday 5 November 10.30-12.00 at the South Gallery 21-22. As a participant in this debate, organised by the International Institute for Peace through Tourism, Jaiet will highlight the contribution of tourism to the socio-economic development of Tunisia, a ‘start-up democracy’ that has witnessed major transition since 2011.

“As a Tunisian, I have confidence in the democratic shift that is underway, and I have great faith in the future of Tunisia as a destination”, said Wahida Jaiet, Director General at the Tunisian National Tourist Office.

The ‘We Are Energy’ concept, which is one of many aspects of a new strategy to revitalise the country’s tourism sector, will include establishing digital and media relations programmes. One of the highlights of this launch will be the release of a new ‘We Are Energy’ web platform. It will also be promoted on Twitter & Facebook.

The Minister of Tourism Mrs Amel Karboul, Managing Director of the Tunisian National Tourist Office Mrs Wahida Jaiet, and Director of the Tunisia Tourism Office in the UK Mr Tarek Aouadi will be attending WTM (stand AF650) and will be available for interviews. They aim to encourage visitors to rediscover the North African destination, which is just a two to three hour flight from most UK airports.
