Ecoffee Cup Supports Plastic Challenge: £1 of Every Cup Donated to Marine Conservation Society this June

Throughout the month of June, Ecoffee Cup will be supporting the Marine Conservation Society’s ‘Plastic Challenge’ by donating £1 of the sale price of every cup purchased via the Ecoffee Cup website to the MCS.

Do your bit to reduce plastic waste pollution, raise funds for a good cause and help in the quest to get more people saying ‘no’ to single-use by purchasing your Ecoffee Cup at www.ecoff.ee this June.

Ecoffee Cup is a new generation of reusable cup, launched in 2014, to help tackle the ever-growing problem of single-use packaging waste, while simultaneously providing a stylish, practical reusable cup for the coffee-consuming public.

The plastic lining of disposable cups make the separation and recycling process very difficult, which means that over 100 billion single-use cups end up in landfill globally each year (that’s 273,972,603 coffee cups every single day).

“The issue of packaging waste cannot be underestimated” says Ecoffee Cup founder, David McLagan. “We have seen positive steps being taken by supermarkets, coffee chains and consumer groups to help tackle the problems but these are, so far, having a small impact on overall awareness and on changing attitudes or behaviours. Whilst the discussions with politicians and high street coffee giants is likely to be a more long term one, consumers, who are ever more aware of their role and responsibility to reduce waste, can start to make a difference today by choosing reusable and sustainable products.

“At Ecoffee Cup we are passionate about the issue of single-use waste and will be following the MSC plastic-free challenge with interest.”

Ecoffee Cup, has set up the #stopthe100billion campaign in an attempt to raise awareness of this issue, educate the public and effect real change in the way we consume takeaway products.

Priced from £7.95, the Ecoffee Cup is manufactured using bamboo fibre (the world’s fastest-growing, most sustainable crop) and non-GMO corn starch, which means it’s not only BPA and phthalate free, but biodegradable. Ecoffee Cup is sturdy but light, it has a resealable ‘drip proof’ lid, is fully dishwasher safe and importantly, because bamboo is naturally sterile, it doesn’t flavour-taint drinks, unlike some other reusables.

About Ecoffee Cup
From manufacture through to disposal, Ecoffee Cup is a new generation of reusable takeaway cup.

Created with the world’s fastest-growing, most sustainable crop – naturally organic, bamboo fibre – and non-GMO corn starch, Ecoffee Cup is BPA and phthalate free. It’s the Natural Reusable.

Ecoffee Cup feels a bit like thick, yet light cardboard. And because bamboo fibre is naturally sterile, Ecoffee Cup is lovely to drink from and won’t flavour-taint drinks. It is also super-light and has a fully resealable ‘no-drip’ lid, making it perfect for when you’re on the go.

Ecoffee Cup is fully dishwasher safe and lasts for years if treated nicely (it can split if stepped or sat on). Ecoffee Cup is not suitable for microwave use.

The real beauty of the cup is that it is biodegradable; when it has reached the end of its lifecycle – simply crush it, soak it in boiling water and bury it with organic compost.

Available in a wide range of fun, contemporary patterns and bright, vibrant colours, Ecoffee Cup packs just a little bit more style than its plastic, ceramic or stainless steel cousins.
